Well, for two weeks I haven’t written, because I was in the United States at a conference and didn’t have much time, and on fotos. I got back two days ago and yesterday went to a flower farm owned by the family of a friend of mine, so that’s going to be my next post.

I’m also leaving again in eary July, but will take time to write when I’m back in the US for summer, because this time it’s vacation, not work.

Meanwhile, I had my first chance to show off my Spanish. When I was flying from Miami to Louisville, Kentucky, the flight attendant needed someone to speak Spanish because there was a couple sitting in the exit row who didn’t speak English. Since it was Miami, I waited for somebody else to volunteer, but nobody did, so I took on the project of telling them that, since they didn’t  speak English, they would have to move. I did a good job, too, even realizing when I got tripped up by a false cognate (at first, I said “exito,” which means success, instead of “salida,” which means exit). But I straightened that out right away.

Then, when they had moved, I took the exit row seat.

Tomorrow, the flower farm.
