I'd agree that, depending on how fast Turkey sorts itself out and (assuming it) gets into the EU, that will give it a big economic "speed" advantage over Colombia. But I also agree that there're huge amounts of natural resources in Colombia and that the human resources remain painfully untapped. There's a lot of potential here, if only it could break free .... (I've been to Colombia numerous times in the past half-dozen years, and have just relocated indefinitely to Bogotá.)
